Warriors Men’s Basketball Team defeats University of Jamestown for first win of the season

The Sterling College Warriors faced off against the University of Jamestown Jimmies on Thursday in the 2015 Jeff Uphaus Memorial Tournament at Mid-America Nazarene University. A strong second half for Sterling helped propel the Warriors to their first victory of the season, defeating the Jimmies 76-68.

Four different Warriors finished with double digit point totals: Terrance Boyd-18, Fayola Oyatayo and Brandon Givens-15, and Maurice Williams (JR/Fayetteville, Ga.)-14. Defensively, Sterling was led by Boyd with 11 rebounds for his first double-double of the season. Rolando Gardner (SR/Oklahoma City, Okla.) ended the game with a team high six assists.

Sterling (1-2) will play again tomorrow during the 2015 Jeff Uphaus Memorial Tournament at MANU. The Warriors will face the winner of the Mid-America Nazarene, Barclay game.
