The Barton Community College men’s soccer team took care of business Saturday night in Dodge City scoring three second half goals for a 4-1 victory over the Conquistadors of Dodge City Community College.  The Cougars increased their one goal halftime edge to two then answered the Conquistadors lone goal with two more net shakers securing the win.   The victory marked the thirteenth straight game the Cougars are unbeaten versus the Conquistadors and increased its unblemished unbeaten historical streak in Dodge City to ten.  Barton will have a week off before its next competition as the Cougars host Neosho County Community College on Saturday, October 3, in a 4:00 p.m. kick at the Cougar Soccer Complex.

Scoring two goals on the day, Lucas Alves gave the Cougars the lead into the locker room with a pinpoint thirty-yard free kick to the far post with just 1:34 remaining.   Renan Sousa gave the Cougar a two-goal cushion and eventual game winner 8:14 into the second half with a one-touch past the Conquistador keeper from a beautifully placed through ball by Sergio Ribeiro.

The Conquistadors cut the lead in half one minute later as the unmarked Shawn Watson was able to beat Bruce Turner to the near post.  Alves would then pick up his second goal of the game via a penalty kick essentially sealing the victory with 23:42 left in the contest.

Juan Barron put the game out of reach hammering home Jiro Barriga Toyama‘s laser through ball with 20:32 to play.
