The Barton Community College volleyball team began the second half of the conference season much like it began, a victory over Garden City Community College.  Unlike the four set victory the Cougars enjoyed back at the Barton Gym in late August, Barton needed a rally Wednesday night at the Dennis Perryman Center hammering the Broncbusters 25-15 in the opener but dropping the next two 19-25 and 21-15.  With their backs to the wall the Cougars responded taking the fourth 25-20 then broke away in the latter half of the fifth winning 15-8.  The victory improves Barton to 3-6 in Jayhawk conference play and 6-18 overall while Garden City drops their thirteenth straight falling to 1-8 in conference and 1-24 on the season.   Getting the fifteen match losing streak monkey off their backs, the Cougars will look to carry the momentum to avenge an earlier loss to Cloud County Community College welcoming the T-birds to the Barton Gym on Saturday for a 2:00 p.m. first serve.
