Last season at Oxnard, Sandoval went 6-2 in 12 starts with a 2.50 ERA for the Condors, striking out 52 batters in 68 1/3 innings.
Before attending Oxnard, Sandoval was at Cal State Northridge where he was used as a situational lefty out of the bullpen in his first season with the Matadors. In 11.2 innings of work, Sandoval was 2-0 with a 3.86 ERA and made 21 appearances. He recorded seven strikeouts and allowed just one extra-base hit all year. He set career highs with three strikeouts in 2.0 innings on May 7th as the Matadors upset then-No. 8 UCLA on the road 4-1.
“Oscar is a big pick up for us,” said Head Coach Adrian Dinkel about Sandoval, “We expect him to come in and contribute in a big way.”
