Nico Hernandez of Wichita clinched a medal in the 2016 Olympics with his unanimous three-round decision victory against Ecuador’s Carlos Eduardo Quipo Palaxti. With this win Hernandez becomes the first American male boxer to earn an Olympic medal since heavyweight Deontay Wilder took home a bronze at the 2008 Olympic Games.
