For the second time this season the Barton Community College volleyball team simply didn’t have answers to combat No. 20 ranked Hutchinson Community College as the Blue Dragons rolled Wednesday night at the Hutchinson Sports Arena 25-14, 25-16, and 25-7. The loss drops Barton to 6-9 in conference play and 9-22 overall while Hutchinson improves to 27-8 on the season and 14-1 in the Jayhawk securing their fourth straight conference championship. The Cougars will wrap up regular season play on Thursday traveling to second place Seward County Community College for a 6:30 p.m. first serve.
Emily Deterding nearly had half of the Cougars sixteen kills getting seven on twenty-eight swings. Lydia Konrade and Mallory McQueen each had eight digs with McQueen recording eleven assists as Barton hit a season low negative .074 attack on the night.
