If cruising in a kayak, floating around on a paddleboard, and getting splashed by water balloons are activities your child would enjoy, consider bringing them to Elk City State Park on August 1 for the park’s annual End of Summer Bash and OK Kids Day.
Activities will run from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. There is no cost to attend, and all daily vehicle permit fees will be waived the day of the event.
A portion of the activities will be held in conjunction with the Kansas Wildscape Foundation’s OK Kids Day program. OK Kids Day events are designed to encourage participants to experience the outdoor beauty of Kansas and to learn about its natural resources and wildlife through outdoor games and activities. Activities associated with OK Kids Day events can include fishing derbies and clinics, scavenger hunts, archery, wingshooting, birdhouse building, and more.
