The Lake Afton Public Observatory was going to close, but there is now hope. Local astronomy enthusiasts will be presenting a business plan to the Segwick County commissioners in hopes to safe the observatory. “It does have history, and we’d like to keep it going,” Fred Gassert said. “It’s an asset to the community.”
