Eggs in Incubators on May 1 Up 3 Percent from Last Year
Turkey eggs in incubators on May 1, 2017, in the United States totaled
29.0 million, up 3 percent from May 1, 2016. Eggs in incubators were up
2 percent from the April 1, 2017 total of 28.6 million eggs.
Poults Hatched During April Down 2 Percent from Last Year
Turkey poults hatched during April 2017, in the United States totaled
23.3 million, down 2 percent from April 2016. Poults hatched were down
9 percent from the March 2017 total of 25.7 million poults.
Net Poults Placed During April Up Slightly from Last Year
The 22.6 million net poults placed during April 2017 in the United States
were up slightly from the number placed during the same month a year
earlier.
Net placements were down 4 percent from the March 2017 total of 23.5
million.
