Yes it is a long name for a garden show because it identifies as a local community event held in Harvey County! With that said, spring is here! The 2017 Harvey County Home and Garden Show will be here soon as well! Mark March 11 and 12 on your calendar for this year’s event conducted by K-State Research and Extension-Harvey County and the Harvey County Master Gardener Volunteers. The show is located at the National Guard Armory on Grandview in Newton.
The show features lawn and garden educational seminars, horticultural and home trade show, door prizes and kids activities. If you are interested in learning something new for your garden or landscape or purchasing plant and garden material this is the local event for you!
You can learn from our educational seminars that include: “Butterflies in the Garden”, “Best Friends in the Garden” and “Pruning Trees” just to name a few!
We have events for kids as well! Kids can make and take a Mini-Scarecrow and other craft activities.
Kids get in free and age 13 and over are one dollar to get in. The one dollar entry fee includes educational seminars trade show.
The Harvey County Farmers market will be open for business! Local growers and bakers will have their goods available for sale at the show.
Mi Mama’s Recipes will provide concessions during the show!
