ANDOVER, Kan., March 16, 2017 – The Andover Advantage Foundation awarded its 2017 Academic Advantage Grants to classrooms and teachers at Andover USD 385 schools during the annual Grant Squad event today.
This year’s grant awards totaled $80,802.50 and included funds to support Andover Public School’s ability to provide excellence in education.
“The Andover Advantage Foundation’s mission is to support Andover Public Schools and we are committed to this cause to ensure its teachers and students have what they need to be successful,” said Rick Bloom, Andover Advantage Foundation president. “Through private dollars, we are able to provide innovative projects and educational tools that otherwise might not be funded by the district.”
Over the past 20 years, the Andover Advantage Foundation has funded over $1 million in Academic Advantage Grants and six special district-wide projects. This milestone was made possible through the hard work of its volunteers and the support of its donors. This is money used to enrich the classrooms for all Andover students that otherwise wouldn’t be possible. The Foundation will celebrate it’s 20th anniversary this fall.
“The Andover Advantage Foundation allows our district to provide innovative teaching and learning opportunities for students and teachers,” said Greg Rasmussen, Andover USD 385 superintendent. “The partnership we have built with the Foundation over the past twenty years has grown into a one-of-a-kind relationship that benefits not only our schools but also our community.”
