The Wheat Market Show will take place at the Harvey County Fair July 31st – August 4th. I encourage area farmers to take part in it. If a producer wishes to enter, just inform the scale operator at the participating local elevator in Harvey County. Samples will be collected right off of the truck as you go across the scale.
The sample will be tagged with the producers name, address and variety on it. All producers that are entered will be sent a postage paid envelope with a Crop Data Card following harvest. You will just have to fill out the Agronomic information section of the card and drop it in the mail.
If this is done by July 15th you will be entered into the Wheat Market Show. All of the wheat entries will be judged by the Kansas Grain Inspection Service prior to the Harvey county fair and the farmer’s wheat that wins will be displayed at the Kansas State Fair in September.
