Sienna Ranch outdoor warning siren broken

The City would like to inform citizens in the Sienna Ranch area that the outdoor warning siren at S.W. 150th and Butler road failed to activate during the Monday (May 4) test. The repair company has been notified and it will be repaired as soon as possible.
In the meantime, police officers will drive the area per severe weather policy with their “hi/low” siren activated (no emergency lights) as a back-up warning in the event the sirens need to be activated. Because of limited staffing, it is possible the on-duty officer will not be able to provide warning to the area in time. Please keep in mind that the best method for staying safe during severe weather is to monitor weather and radar yourself and to be prepared well in advance of the storm. There are four shelter locations in town that will be open in the event severe weather threatens.
