The first statewide Kansas Animal Response Exercise will be held at Salina’s Crisis City venue on October 14. The Kansas State Animal Response Team has planned this exercise for anyone who is interested in learning more about animal care during and following a disaster. Some of the activities will include sheltering of small animals, large animal handling, skill drills. This event will allow veterinarians and Vet Tech an opportunity to receive continuing education credits with training on small, large and exotic animals. If you are not able to attend October is National Disaster Preparedness Month and you are encouraged to “Make a Plan” for your family included the furry ones encase of a disaster.
