US Senator Jerry Moran announced the federal government has agreed to provide screening resources to the Salina Regional Airport, allowing the airport to resume commercial air service. Screenings will be performed by the Transportation Security Administration. It may be several weeks before the necessary security screening equipment and personnel are in place. Great Lakes Airlines was forced to postpone planned service from Salina to Denver while this deal was worked out.
