Suspected Bomb found in Pratt

At approximately 4:00 p.m. July 31, a suspicious package was located in the Pratt County Courthouse on one of the floors. The all clear was given at approximately 4:40pm.  You can find complete details on our website.

At approximately 4:00 p.m. on July 31, an employee notified the Sheriff’s Office of a suspicious package located in the Pratt County Courthouse on one of the floors. They followed protocol, the courthouse was evacuated, and the Kansas Highway Patrol bomb squad was notified. The Kansas Highway Patrol notified the Wichita PD Bomb squad.  Before the bomb squad could respond, they were able to determine the package was left by a repairman earlier in the day. He was contacted and it was confirmed this was his repair kit.  The all clear was given at approximately 4:40 p.m.
