Marquette: Mac County area student earns 1st place at the Canton-Galva High School chess tournament

Pierce Hamma took first place in the K-8 division at the Canton-Galva High School chess tournament held on November 5. Peirce was among the Lindsborg and McPherson area students that competed in the tournament. Students played six rounds of chess during the seven-hour tournament. Pierce’s team mates included Hicks Colson and Brendan Jones from McPherson Middle School.
