Westar Energy is working on a new Substation to provide a more secure power source in Lindsborg.

The Coronado Substation northwest of Lindsborg is being constructed by Westar Energy. The station should be providing Lindsborg with a more secure power source by June 2017. With the community’s power source being less than a mile out of town it is hoped that this upgrade will cut down on power outages. This substation will be the city’s main line of power for the city with lines coming from McPherson and Salina acting as back up should a need arise.
