The Tenawa Haven Gas Plant located just outside of Haven, has completed construction and is now operational. A ribbon cutting to recognize the plant will be held at 10:30 a. m. on September 24, 2015 at the plant site located at 13114 South Kent Road, Haven, Kansas
The Tenawa Haven Gas Plant, one of the largest of its type in the United states, extracts liquid hydrocarbons from natural gas gathered from across Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas and is capable of processing up to 1.4 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day. The plant is one of the most fuel efficient and flexible facilities in the world. Cost of the installation is estimated to be several hundred million dollars.
While Tenawa permanently employs ten people in Haven, during the construction phase, several hundred people from the local area and beyond were employed and contributing to the local economy.
