Fort Hays State University Grants Scholarships to a group of Ellinwood High School Graduates

The following Ellinwood High School graduates have received Scholarships from Fort Hays University: Jared Oelke, who is also a Barton Community College transfer student, accepted a $1,500 Transfer Student Award. Jared is the son of Steve and Amy Oelke, Ellinwood, and plans to major in animal science. Adrian Sanchez accepted a $1,000 Traditions Scholar Award. Adrain is the son of Joshua Williams and Kristin Sanchez, Kansas City. Cassidy Schlessiger, accepted a $2,000 University Scholar Award and a $900 Academic Opportunity Award in agriculture. Cassidy is the daughter of Joe and Tricia Schlessiger, Ellinwood, and Taunya Schlessiger, plans to major in agriculture. Mattie Shafer accepted a $1,500 Hays City Scholar Award and a $900 Academic Opportunity Award in teacher education. Mattie daughter of Gary and Amanda Shafer, Ellinwood, and plans to major in education. Kaitlyn Wondra, who is also a FHSU senior, accepted a $1,350 Ruby and Omer Hammeke Scholarship. Kaitlyn, daughter of Kelly and Kristen Wondra, Ellinwood, and is majoring in nursing.
