Recipients of the 2016 Mayor’s Award of Excellence are Pat and Susan Swaney. The award will be presented at the January 26 City Council meeting at 6:30PM. The Swaneys have been committed to serving Derby for many years.
- Pat served on the Derby Volunteer Fire Department from 1968 to 2014. He was chief from 1985 to 2005 and assistant chief from 2005 to 2014 when he retired.
- Pat currently serves as president of the board of the El Paso Cemetery Association.
- Pat was president of the El Paso Water Company until he retired in 2008 and was a long-time member of the Rotary Club, serving on its Board of Directors.
