The Flint Hills Tall Grass Prairie, the Symphony in the Flint Hills, Chase County Conservation District and the Flint Hills Extension District-Chase County are sponsoring a “King of the Prairie” Tallest Bluestem contest. Chase County residents are encouraged to bring their entries of Big Bluestem (stalk with seed head) to the Symphony in the Flint Hills at 331 Broadway on or before Wednesday, November 23. Prizes will be awarded for junior (5-17 years old) and adults (18 years old and older) divisions. Winners will be announced at the Chase County Christmas Celebration on Saturday, November 26 and will be on displayed at the Symphony in the Flint Hills Gallery.
