The Little Free Library has giving both youth and adults in Assaria a place to grab a book without having to go out of town. The structure located near the Post Office, was design and built by employees at the local Lowes and installed by Wayne Rufener, local artist. This free standing library has around 76 books for all ages. This was a project of the Altrusa International Club of Salina — a women’s civic organization whose main focus is literacy and is registered on the with the national Little Free Library registry. The community will maintain the Little Free Library but donations are accepted.
