If you’ve ever wondered what happens to the animal mounts and sporting equipment confiscated by the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism (KDWP), you may want to attend the auction to be conducted by Wilson Realty and Auction Service, at 601 S. Broadway, Salina this coming Saturday.

KDWP has contracted with Lonnie Wilson to sell off confiscated items accumulated for several years, including a 14-point buck mount, with antlers scoring the second-highest for typical whitetail deer in Kansas, and over 100 other deer mounts and antlers … all from illegally taken deer.

Other confiscated items to be auctioned include 50 guns, three boats, a jet ski, archery equipment, fishing poles, deer stands, spotting scopes and other equipment.

The auction will also include consigned items.  Given the volume of items, Wilson says he will have seven auctioneers working three separate rings throughout the day.  The auction starts at 10 AM and Wilson expects it to conclude by 6 PM.

The auction sale-bill for this auction is published in this week’s paper.    Auctioneer Lonnie Wilson can be reached at 785-827-5563, http://www.soldbywilson.com/
