Aquatic nuisance species are animals and plants that aren’t native to Kansas. When they enter Kansas waters – usually on wet boats and equipment or bait buckets – they threaten the health (and future fishing) of lakes and rivers.
That’s why we need your help. Aquatic nuisance species usually hitch into new waters with unsuspecting people who don’t even realize their wet boats and equipment are carrying problematic larvae. So please be sure your boat and equipment are clean, drained and dry, and don’t dump bait buckets or move live fish. A little awareness can make a big difference! Protect Kansas waters for the future.
