The Harvey County K-State Research & Extension Office will be offering a Hands-On Mushroom Growing Workshop on Friday, March 25 from 9:00 am to noon. The workshop will be held at the Harvey County 4-H building (800 West First) in Newton. The cost of the workshop is $40.
Topics Covered at the workshop include: Cultivating edible mushrooms on logs and substrate, growing mushrooms in woodchips or straw mulch, and log selection and harvest. Each participant will go home with a log they have inoculated for shiitake mushrooms and an inoculated kit of oyster mushrooms.
