Donna Sue Lehner, 78, of McPherson, KS, passed away Friday, December 18, 2020, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She had been a McPherson resident for many years and was an agent for New York Life.
She was born January 15, 1942 in Norwich, Kansas, the daughter of Donald R. and Joyce A. (Lear) Moore. Donna graduated from Arlington (KS) High School in 1959. She then attended Hutchinson Junior College and went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Wichita State University.
In her earlier years, Donna was a school teacher in Goddard and Pretty Prairie. In 1977, she started her own business, Straw Weavers, which packaged wheat & wreaths for the crafting industry. Donna was a member of First United Methodist Church (McPherson) and served on the McPherson City Planning and Zoning Board.
Survivors include: a daughter, Dinelle Hunsberger (Gavin) of Haven, KS; a brother, Robert Moore (Lois) of McPherson, KS; two granddaughters, Emily Holliday (Brad) of Shawnee, KS and Hayley Hunsberger (fiancé, Eric O’Donnell) of Mulvane, KS; and great-grandchildren, Greyson Kerschen, Tate Kerschen, Daphne Holliday, and Branson O’Donnell.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at McPherson Cemetery with Rev. Emily Spearman-Cannon officiating.
Memorial donations may be given to McPherson County Food Bank or the McPherson Shrine Club Children’s Hospital Travel Fund in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 N. Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.
