Eggs in Incubators on February 1 Up 10 Percent from Last Year
Turkey eggs in incubators on February 1, 2017, in the United States totaled
29.8 million, up 10 percent from February 1, 2016. Eggs in incubators were
down 1 percent from the January 1, 2017 total of 30.0 million eggs.
Poults Hatched During January Up 10 Percent from Last Year
Turkey poults hatched during January 2017, in the United States totaled
25.1 million, up 10 percent from January 2016. Poults hatched were down
1 percent from the December 2016 total of 25.4 million poults.
Net Poults Placed During January Up 5 Percent from Last Year
The 23.2 million net poults placed during January 2017 in the United States
were up 5 percent from the number placed during the same month a year
earlier. Net placements were up 1 percent from the December 2016 total of
23.0 million.
