Marquette native finished filming the screen play “Short Straw”

“Short Straw” a screen play by Steve Jirak, rural Marquette, recently finished filming in the area. Steve has spent the last seven years with several starts, and endless rewrites on the story that is loosely based on the life of an uncle who had lost his voice to polio at the age of 7.  The film was shot in the Marquette, Lingsborg and Falun areas with a cast that included Joe Pantaliano, Elaine Hendrix, Johnathan Tchikovsky, Rockmond Dunbar and others. The film will now be edited in Los Angeles and entered into film festivals worldwide with the hopes it is purchased by a distributor and released to theaters.
