Wichita: Via Christi Hospital opens remodeled medical observation wing at St Francis

The Observation Unit at Via Christi Hospital St. Francis was recently moved into the renovated space on 5SW as part of the master plan to convert Via Christi St. Francis to all-private rooms. The 18 private patient rooms of the unit, including two that can be used as double-occupancy rooms for patients who require continuous monitoring; one room equipped with a track to help safely mobilize patients needing maximum assistance in getting from their bed to the bathroom; and a reconfigured workspace designed for optimal efficiency in collaboration among physicians and clinicians. Renovations continue on the7SE section of the hospital which serves a general surgery and trauma nursing unites with the work expected to be completed in the summer of 2017.
