McPherson, Kansas – September 15, 2016 – Central Christian College of Kansas hosted a BBQ cookout for the McPherson Police Department and first responders at the M.B. Miller Heritage Plaza to honor the men and women that serve to protect the McPherson community.
“We believe in our first responders and can never say thank you enough,” says Central Christian College President, Hal Hoxie, “I hope the folks serving us see there are many Americans who appreciate their personal sacrifice.”
“Special thanks to Central Christian College for putting on today’s event, for the recognition they offer, and for celebrating all local first responders in this way. We are honored,” says McPherson Police Chief Robert McClarty.
The event was hosted by Central Christian College of Kansas and sponsored by area individuals and businesses, including: Mayor Tom Brown, Farmers Alliance, Peoples Bank and Trust, Citizens State Bank, Hedlund Electric, McPherson Concrete, LSI Staffing, and Tom & Gail Greco (Central Christian College).
As a small thank you to the men and women serving our community, Central Christian College of Kansas will be submitting a donation to the McPherson County Community Foundation. This donation will be applied to the purchase of new safety equipment.
