Smoky Valley Historical Association announces the reopening of Coronado Heights Castle on Labor Day

The Smoky Valley Historical Association (SVHA) has announced that Coronado Heights Castle (built 1936) will reopen on Labor Day weekend. The Castle has undergone a major renovation that started in March which included replacing the observation floor and the wooden support timbers in the castle. Other improvements include the entrances to the castle and the restrooms were made handicapped accessible in addition to the great hall floor being smoothed and a sealant applied. Funding was provided by The Kansas Heritage Trust Fund and donations from the many supporters of both Coronado Heights and the SVHA.
