McPherson College’s Justin Stuckey will resign as Head Men’s and Women’s Tennis Coach effective June, 24th, 2016. Coach Stuckey steps down after two of the most successful tennis seasons in McPherson College history.

“It is with mixed emotions that I step down. This is a situation that ultimately allows my family a great opportunity.” Said Stuckey. “I am very grateful for the opportunity that former Athletic Director Doug Quint and current Athletic Director Andrew Ehling have given me to be the Head Coach of both programs at McPherson. McPherson is truly a special place with special people. I am so proud of the student athletes that I have had the opportunity to get to know and coach over the past two years. My goal was to elevate the tennis programs in the conference and on the national level and I feel that both programs are positioned better at the conference and national levels.”

Stuckey was the 2015 and 2016 KCAC Coach of the Year for both the men and women. The last two years under his direction, both the men’s and women’s tennis teams earned trips to the NAIA National Tennis Championships. The MC women have won three straight KCAC Regular Season Championships and have consistently been nationally ranked in the top 25 finishing the 2016 season ranked 22th in the NAIA National Coaches Poll. The MC men are back-to-back KCAC Tennis Tournament Champions finishing the 2016 season ranked 15th in the NAIA National Coaches Poll.

“McPherson College is losing a great coach.” MC Athletic Director Andrew Ehling said. “Coach Stuckey has elevated our Men’s and Women’s Tennis programs. I certainly wish him and his family the best in their future endeavors.”

A national search will begin immediately.
