The USD 490 Board of Education approved recommendation to move forward with Phase II of the district’s Long Range Facility Plan. A May 2016 mail ballot will be used to ask for voter approval of a new bond issue to build two new PreK-fifth grade elementary schools. The bond would be capped at $36 million and would cost the owner of a $100,000 home about $7 per month in property taxes.
