Kansas experiences business growth in 2015

Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach announced today that the total number of businesses formed in Kansas experienced a record increase in calendar year 2015. The number of new domestic business entities formed in 2015 was 17,298. That number broke the 2014 record of 15,780. Moreover, there was not a proportionate increase in dissolutions.

Accordingly, the total number of business entities in existence rose for the eighth straight year from 170,489 in 2014 to 179,665 in 2015. Since taking office in 2010, Secretary Kobach has presided over a 23 percent increase of business entities throughout the state. Secretary Kobach said: “This is truly an extraordinary number of new businesses for our State. The entrepreneurial spirit is alive and well in Kansas.”
