Hillsboro: Water system out of compliance

The City of Hillsboro water system recently violated a drinking water standard with levels of Total Haloacetic Acids (HAA5) 24.5 ug/L above the standard. Although this is not an emergency and you do not need to use an alternative (e.g., bottled) water supply, if you have specific health concerns, consult your doctor. City staff anticipated this violation when they started the “free chlorine burnout”. City water will be back in full compliance before the end of the year.
